SUMMARY:US Navy Band Sea Chanters
DESCRIPTION:The Navy Band Sea Chanters are the United States Navy’s official chorus. The ensemble performs a variety of music including traditional choral music\, sea chanteys\, patriotic fare\, opera\, Broadway and contemporary music. The Sea Chanters regularly perform for the public in the Washington\, D.C.\, area and throughout the United States while on national tours. \nAt home in Washington\, they perform for the president\, vice president and numerous congressional\, military and foreign dignitaries. In 1956\, Lt. Harold Fultz\, then the band’s assistant leader\, organized a vocal group from the Navy School of Music to sing chanteys and patriotic songs for the State of the Nation dinner. Recognizing the ensemble’s immediate success\, Adm. Arleigh Burke\, then Chief of Naval Operations\, transferred the group to the Navy Band\, named them the Sea Chanters and tasked this all-male chorus with perpetuating the songs of the sea. In 1980\, the group added women to its ranks and expanded its repertoire to include everything from Brahms to Broadway.\nThe Sea Chanters are frequently found at the center of our most important national events\, including inauguration day performances and state funerals. They have played a vital role in comforting the nation in times of mourning\, including appearances at memorials for the astronauts of the space shuttle Columbia and the presidential wreath laying ceremony at the United Airlines flight 93 crash site in Shanksville\, Pennsylvania. \nThey have appeared at the Kennedy Center Honors and with the National Symphony Orchestra for the nationally telecast “National Memorial Day Concerts” at the U.S. Capitol. In addition\, the group has appeared on “Larry King Live” and “CBS This Morning” as well as at the premier of the movie “Pearl Harbor.” In 2008\, the Sea Chanters performed with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir under the direction of Mack Wilburg. Noted choral directors Dale Warland and Donald Neuen have guest conducted the ensemble\, and renowned composers Michael McCarthy\, Roger Bourland\, William MacDuff and Lloyd Pfautsch have written works especially for the ensemble. Other notable orchestral appearances include the Kansas City Symphony\, the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra\, the Baltimore Symphony and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. \nThe Sea Chanters have enjoyed a great reputation performing with such stars as Perry Como\, Marian Anderson\, Kenny Rogers and Lionel Richie. Throughout their history\, the Sea Chanters have remained true to the Navy’s watchwords of pride and professionalism\, and they continue to flourish as a vibrant ensemble.

DESCRIPTION:LOOK OUT!! Earth Jam is often described as a runaway rock train. \n“Amazing vocals” ”Super Pro” and “They play my music” are typical fan follower quotes. \nWith deep roots in the Delaware rock scene\, they embarked on their journey to entertain in 2023 and quickly became a Delmarva beach favorite. Their energetic live shows have attracted a large and devoted fan base. The band plays classic songs from such artists as the Doobie Brothers\, Creedence Clearwater Revival\, The Guess Who and Grand Funk as well soul classics from such artists as Stevie Wonder\, The Spinners and Marvin Gaye.\nAlthough Earth Jam is new\, its members are well known in the local and national music scenes. Robbie LaBlanc is on guitar and lead vocals (international recording artist formerly signed to Atlantic Records and managed by Felix Cavaliere of the Young Rascals\, Bad River)\, Michael Daisey is on drums and lead vocals (Boyz of Summer\, The Wise Guys\, The Five-8)\, Kevin Walsh is on lead guitar (Shytown\, Melton Brothers\, Stone Shakers\, Vinyl Shockley)\, Maryland transplant Scott Schoem on keyboards (DC Legends Nayas\, Denise Henderson & The Fellas\, Muskrat Lightning\, LCB)\, local music legend Chatty Cooper is on percussion (Scuzzy Frog\, Vandy\, Robbin Thompson\, and Junior Wilson and Chatty\,) and driving the band\, Todd Vukmanic\, is on bass and vocals (The Rutabagas\, The Moonlight Mutts and Red Eye Kings). \nEarth Jam. DESCRIPTION:From his first professional job at age 14 to the present\, drummer Tim Laushey has provided both listeners and dancers to a driving\, swinging beat that is as fresh today as it was when he first fell under the spell of drumming legend Gene Krupa. \nStarting with Ronald Reagan’s Inaugural Ball in 1980 and again in 1985\, the list of show business legends that have had Tim Laushey behind them reads like a Who’s Who: Lee Castle and the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra\, Ray McKinley\, Warren Covington\, Charlie Spivak\, Sammy Kaye\, Bob Crosby\, Les Elgart\, Tex Beneke\, Bob Eberele\, Vaughn Monroe\, and Johnny Desmond lead the list of bands that Tim played with while these great musicians were still with us.
