The City of Rehoboth Beach is happy to announce their first annual photo contest!  This contest is open to all amateur photographers in the local area who enjoy taking pictures of local events.  Photos that are taken will be used in publication, advertising, and other promotional materials.  It's easy!  Just grab your camera before you come to a performance and shoot away!

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Photos of the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand that we may use for publication materials (magazines, newspapers, schedule, etc.)
Photos that we may use to enhance the look of our website/gallery
Photos that may accompany email newsletters to subscribers
Rehoboth Beach Bandstand events
Rehoboth Beach Bandstand structure
Photos of the new OR old Rehoboth Beach Bandstand
Photos of entire groups are accepted (individual performers are not accepted unless a substantial amount of the background is visible)

In order to qualify, please review the following information:
Photographers may submit up to three entries per contest. Only digital prints may be submitted. (No prints, please.)
All submissions must be emailed to photos@rehobothbandstand.com (no larger than 8MB per email) or mailed on a CD or (non-returnable) flash-based memory card to:

NOTE: All photos must be in original resolution (300dpi or above).  Photos that have been reduced in quality will not be eligible
Entries must include:
     Your name (as you want it indicated in all postings of your picture)
     Date (approximate) of your photo
     Short bio about your photography experience
     Description of your experiences at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand and your reason(s) for applying
Entries must be postmarked by October 1, 2009

RULES:
There is no entry fee or any other cost to enter.
Entries will not be returned.
Photos must be in relationship to the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand. Images may be color, black-and-white, or digitally altered, but will not be judged separately.
Entrants must be amateur photographers, 16 years of age or older. Those who make less than 50 percent of their income from photography are considered amateurs.
Professional photographers (those who earn 50 percent or more of their income from photography) are not eligible to participate — nor are Rehoboth Beach Bandstand contributors or contractors, or their family members.
Entrant must be the photographer who shot the submitted photographs.
Previously published photographs are not eligible.
Rehoboth Beach Bandstand as well as the City of Rehoboth Beach are not responsible for any submitted materials. Rehoboth Beach Bandstand reserves the right to disqualify photographs deemed unsuitable.
Entrants agree that the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand may use all submissions for contest-related publishing or marketing purposes, and release the rights of their images to the City of Rehoboth Beach.
Photographers will be credited appropriately.
Entries that do not comply with contest rules will be disqualified.

JUDGING:
Entries will be judged according to the overall quality of the photograph, specifically subject matter, composition of the image, exposure, color and focus.
Judges’ decisions will be final.
Each contest may have a first-, second-, and third-place winner. Honorable mentions may be granted at the judges’ discretion. Winners will be notified by email or phone.
Winners will receive prizes to be announced later.
If not enough entries are received, judging may be completed the following year with additional submissions.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:
Submitted images must be at least 300dpi and able to be printed at a minimum of 8 inches by 10 inches.
Slides will not be accepted.
